Additional informations:

Starting in the fall of 1943, the Messerschmitt Me 410 "Zerstörer" was used against incoming US bomber units in the Berlin area. They were far outgunned by the U.S. fighter escorts and considerable losses resulted. In March 1944, the I./ZG 26 converted from Bf 110 to Me 410. Presumably for better camouflage on the ground, in June / July 1944, the standard RLM 74/75/76 paint scheme was given additional meanders in RLM 82 dark green, which were pulled far down the sides of the fuselage. Contrary to the usual marking, the squadron identification "3U" was applied behind the fuselage cross, and the aircraft letter and squadron letter in front of the fuselage cross. The engine letter "K" was in the squadron color yellow and the spinner was provided with a spiral.

Acknowledgments:
Additional informations:

On January 17, 1945, the fuselage of the He 162 M6, manufactured at the Languste plant, arrived at Schwechat-Heidfeld. The first flight took place on January 23, 1945, under the command of Dipl.-Ing. Schuck. During further flights by Director Fancke, Fliegerstabsingenieur Bader, First Lieutenant Wedemeyer, and pilots Seling and Pawolka, the main complaint was that the play in the controls was much too large. Stronger spring bodies were subsequently installed and flight operations resumed on Jan. 27, 1945. Testing with extended rudder and aileron began at the end of the month. As a result, the aircraft pulled sharply to the left. Springs placed in the center position were to remedy the situation. On February 2, the aircraft with Gerhard Full crashed on landing. After about 100 meters of taxiing, the nose wheel retracted on its own and damaged the nose wheel flap and the wooden nose cone. After repairs were completed, First Lieutenant Georg Wedemeyer crashed on February 4, 1945 as a result of an engine failure and was killed. The He 162 M6 was completely painted in RLM 02 colors. The Balkenkreuze were applied in a very minimalistic manner and did not meet the specifications of the time. The color profile shows the aircraft at the beginning of its testing without the conversion measures. There was no nationality insignia on the vertical stabilizer at this time.

The Junkers Ju 388 was a further development of the Junkers Ju 188, which in turn was based on the well-known Junkers Ju 88. This aircraft, a high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft, had continous imaging devices in it's fuselage "Bomb-tank". It was equipped with a pressurized cabin, and had the latest version of the BMW 801 TJ-0 engine with external air intake. The Junkers Ju 388 L-1, W.Nr. 340284 came from the series production of Allgemeine Transportanlagennesellschaft mbH (ATG) at Leipzig-Mockau. The plane had the On december 23, 1944, between 1:15 pm and 1:47 pm the "340284" was transferred from Leipzip to Kölleda by Flugzeugführer Behrend. (1st factory flight). A second factory flight from Kölleda to Altenburg, also with FF Behrend, took place on January 27, 1945 between 9:52 am and 10:16 am. At the end of war, the apparently intact plane was captured by American troops at Altenburg. At this time, the rear armament was not installed. The Ju 388 was probably scrapped at Altenburg.

In the fall of 1942 the MKHL (Royal Hungarian Air Force) received the first Ju 88 Ds, which were assigned to 1.1. Long Range Reconnaissance Squadron. The F9+14 had a standard RLM 70/71/65 camouflage with the original German markings painted over. On the vertical and horizontal tail the Hungarian insignia consisted of Red, White and Green were painted on. Remarkable are the non standard Hungarian White and Black crosses on the fuselage and wings. Parts of the previous Hungarian markings, which most likely were F9+16, were painted over with white outlined numbers. Same as the German planes on the eastern front the F9+14 had a yellow theatre markings.
Heinkel He 162 V1 W.Nr. 200001 VI+IA built in Werk Languste. The construction of the fuselage was started on November 13th 1944 and on 2 December the aircraft arrived at Schwechat-Heidfeld were it was completed. On 6 December 1944 the aircraft was first flown by Heinkel test pilot Flugkapitän Dipl.-Ing. Gotthold Peter. On its second flight, four days later the aircraft was destroyed due to construction defects, killing Gotthold Peter. Themachine was painted overall in RLM 02 with the only other marking being the Werknummer painted on the power part of the fin, in black. The style of the ‘Balkenkreuze’ is also unusual forthat time.

Heinkel He 162 M20 (A-03) W.Nr. 220003 coded VI+IM was built at Werk Languste. The third pre-production series aircraft, which was first flown by Gerhard Gleuwitz on 10 February 1945. At the end of March 1945 the aircraft was moved from Schwechat to Lechfeld and it was later found damaged at München-Riem. The aircraft was equipped with 2 x MG 151/20 replacing the proposed MK 108s. The fuselage was painted in RLM 76/82 with the rear fuselage cone appearing as though it was left in its natural metal finish with the camouflage just being applied to the upper side. The BMW 003 engine cowling and covering was painted overall in RLM 81 with the wing upper surfaces painted in RLM 81/82.

Heinkel He 162 M23 (A-06) W.Nr. 220006 coded VI+IP was built at Werk Languste. This aircraft was first flown by Gerhard Gleuwitz on 19 March 1945. Like the M20, the M23 was also found at München-Riem in May 1945. The M23 was tested with a revised wing root and fuselage fairing. The aircraft was painted overall in RLM 02 with only the air intake of the jet engine being left in its original colour of RLM 81. The factory call sign VI+IP was painted in black on the fuselage sides and also in large letters on the underside of the wings. The Balkenkreuze and Swastika were painted in black in a very simplified way without any white outline. The Werknummer 2200006 was painted on both the top and bottom of the fin.

The Ju 88 A-4/Torp with the code 3Z+OH,
flown by pilot Günther Hirschfeld, navigator Eugen Belz, shooter
Hermann Wünsche and radio operator Werner Schröder, was transfered
from Grieslienen via Frankfurt to France on March 21st
1944. From the Mediterranean Sea cost allied convoys should be
attacked. The first raid the with the 3Z+OH was flown in the night
from March 31st to April 1st 1944 about 80
kilometers north from Algier. Target was the convoy UGS36. 13 more
raids were flown near the Algerian cost before the crew got new
orders. From June 6th 1944, the landing allied troops in
the Normandie, more and more raids were flown in the English Channel.
The last effort was achieved on 31st July 1944 during a
raid near Algier. Some days later the “Otto” was completely
destroyed an ground by two low flying P-51 Mustang. The crew of the
“Otto” flew 21 raids. Significant because 30% of all planes were
lost during each raid at this time. Pilot Günther Hirschfeld said:
“We had a full squadron of guardian angels!”

The plane was camouflaged in RLM 70/71/65 overpaintd with RLM 70 and RLM 76.
The base drawing was made by Maciej Noszczak. Thank you for the kind permission to use your drawing.

Harald Belz, the son of naviagtor Eugen Belz asked me to do this profile for him. It was a great challenge for me to paint this really special camouflaged plane, but with the information Mr. Belz got from his father it was possible to reconstruct it as best as possible.

"Yellow 5" was captured in May 1945 at Ainring Airfield in South Germany. Later the plane got U.S. markings and was transfered to Salzburg-Maxglan. There the plane ended on a scrapyard.
The plane was camouflaged in RLM 75/83/76. The spinner was overall black or maybe RLM 70. The plane had typical Luftflotte 4 markings as the yellow band around the engine cowling and the yellow rudder. Interesting is the fact that the "Yellow 5" was just painted on the port side of the fuselage. Below the horizontal tail "mdj 24.4.45" was painted on with white paint. This was the manufacture code for FMW Flugzeug- und Metallbauwerke Wels, were the plane was repaired.
This machine was the personal aircraft of Oblt. Karl-Emil Demuth. The camouflage is typical for the Heinkel Rostock production line. The nose was painted in red-white-black with the arrow painted in red on both sides of the nose. The aircraft also carried the "Devil in the Clouds" emblem of I./JG painted below the cockpit. According the newest references the base colour of the emblem was yellow. The number "11" was painted in yellow, immediately followed by a small "20" in white. On the fin were painted 16 white vitory bars representing vitories Demuth had achieved before flying the He162, as well as the aircraft's Werknummer in white.
